hello! im a noob android user. can i upgrade to ICS with out rooting? i really dont want to void the samsung warranty by doing such. or is that really the case? please enlighten me. TIA

Yup, that’s what happened when I tried to install the local LP7. The workaround I did was to install the Indonesian version of the LP7 and changed my CSC. Globe came up as an option and it changed after rebooting. Apparently, the Indonesian LP7 is an open SEA version which has multiple CSCs for the different carriers in our region.

I got my Globe wallpaper back… XD

It’s improved a bit sir… I also got an original 2000 mah extended battery. I also rooted it courtesy of CF… my only comment is that my Wi-Fi goes on and off after rooting… still observing though as I haven’t thoroughly did some tests on it.

I installed this and tried it for a few days. Has a lot of bugs:
- Apps FC a lot (even if they were ICS-optimized)- WiFi doesn’t connect all the time after turning it on.- Won’t install large apps for me.
Tried the local version but “parameter incorrect” comes up at ODIN. Must have been the download process that screwed it up. Like Francis820 I heard from several followers that LP7 is better. But if I find that it still has bugs I’m reverting to Gingerbread XWLA4.

So far I have no issues with the stock SMS app..just use it temporarily until the fix is rolled out..:)

i’ve tried this before updating to the local version… still has the bugs and the biggest of which is the duplicate sms sending when using 3rd party SMS apps. poor users in europe, they had to deal with this before an update can be made to fix the error.
