Google reportedly preparing to release a new build of Android OS this coming April. This news is supported by ViewSonic which will release a new phone powered by the Android 2.4. The new device from ViewSonic is the ViewPad 4 which is due out this April.
If the report is true, since Google has not yet announced publicly the status of Android 2.4, this is still a Gingerbread or a new name will be given. Android 2.4 will not be ICE CREAM as previously reported.
The upcoming Android 2.4 will merge the Gingerbread(mobile OS) and Honeycomb(tablet OS). This enable for smartphones to run Honeycomb dual core apps .
ViewPad is pack with features like HD 720p video recording, playback and upload. It has mini HDMI output, 5-Megapixel camera, and flash 10.1. Bluetooth 2.1, Wireless b/g/n and 4.1-inch display.
